Holiday Shimmer blog hop- Finally!

Welcome Dreamin' Inker!

Hello to you!  The wait if finally over!  I have been so excited to post this card for our "Holiday Shimmer Hop"   This card used the dryer sheet technique.  It is a really easy technique that gives a huge WOW! effect.

All you do is stamp your card how you would like, I used Stampin up's classic "lovely has a tree" set.  Then use spray adhesive on your newly ironed USED, yes used dryer sheet (cut to your cards dimensions).  Place on top of your stamped images, it will be a little sticky, then take Stampin' Up! dazzling detail glitter, the finest glitter out there, and pour it all over your card.  Shake off the excess and VOILA!, you have a beautiful card front you can decorate as you wish.  I used Stampin' Up! "deck the halls" fabric to give it a more rustic look.  Give it a try, it is really easy and people think you did something amazing (it will be our little secret).

I hope you have a great time hopping to our next blog and go get inspired for the holiday season.  See you later!

Boo! My kids class craft

BOO to all of you!  I can't believe it is already Halloween!  October is over, CRAZY!
I am loving the beautiful weather though, I love that my kids won't have to bundle up for trick or treating.  Well on to why you are here.  I am helping with my kids class Halloween party so I thought of this little ghost for an easy craft for them.  Love that all it is paper plates and streamers.  Just add a few black paper punches (I used stampin up punches, they are so easy to use) for the face, your ribbon to hold it and there you have it a super easy craft for kids of all ages.   I saw this on pinterest and love it so I had to try it.  I would love to know what you all did for crafts this Halloween.
Check back to see the fun digital scrapbook page I made of there day!

My Halloween Ghoules

I kept seeing these cute little guys on cards so I got thinking... How hard would it be to put them on blocks?

Well it was not that hard, it was actually really fun. I had so much fun inking and punching all the paper up and then gluing it on the painted wood. I had so much fun I am going to be holding a class and even putting them in kits so people can make them at home if they would like. If you are interested in a kit let me know.

Stenciling on my Salon Wall

I had so much fun painting with these stencils on my salon wall.  This is what my clients see right when they walk in the door.  I am so happy with how it turned out. I won't lie my honey did the math to figure out how to get it all even.  I have to say we make a great team.  Let me know what you think.  Take a look back and see what the wall looked like before.

Family Wall Art

I have this above my couch in my living room. I had a big wall space that I wanted to use and decorate so I used 12x12 canvas and glued paper and my pictures on it. I used staz on ink to paint the sides of the canvas to give it a 'wrapped" looked. Lots cheaper than real canvas and I get to showcase my paper.

An Amazing weekend of stamping!

I am home and it is great to see my family.  I went to the stampin up convention 2012 and loved every minute of it.  They were so nice and yes we got so many free things!  They spoil us there!  I learned so much  and can't wait to share with you some of them.  I will share with you pictures of my many swaps and some of the awesome things that Stampin' up showed us how to do.

This post is a journal Sheli showed us how to do out of your old books.  She is amazing with ink and stamping.  I can't wait to try this one at home.

I did this poster in 8 1/2 x 11 format in my studio,  then had costco print in up as a 16x20 for less than $5.00 and it was done in a hour.  You can't beat that.
Is your memorial weekend been as crazy as ours.  The funny this is I feel we haven't really accomplished a whole lot.  Oh well at least we are having fun, right?  I wanted to show you a fun poster we made for #1's market day at school.  The whole grade made/bought/brought things to sell with there fake money they had been earning, #1 worked so hard on all the things she made to sell so I wanted to make a poster that would show off all the great things she did.  The digital studio has really made my life a lot easier when it comes to projects like this.  If your are interested in getting the digital studio click here www.jillwakefield.stampinup.net
I can't believe we are into summer break!  The kids are excited to be able to sleep in a little and I am excited to get into some kind of morning routine that involves them cleaning. It should be a great summer. Tomorrow is the husbands birthday, I gave him his present a little early being we are putting in a salon and craft room.  I thought he could use it before tomorrow.  We got him a saw to help with all these great projects that are happening.  He is excited that he does not have to borrow our neighbors anymore.  Here are a few pics of what are salon looks like right now.  We have a long way but it is going to be sooo worth it.  The craft room pics will follow shortly.
This is where my sink, dryer will be

Notice the saw.  Boys will always be boys. We are going to be putting a wall in the door way you see (red carpet room door) and this will be where my waiting area/couch will be.

Under the stairs is where we will put the kids area.  I am so excited for this area it is going to be sooo cute.
And the bathroom.  We had to pipe in for the sink, hence the big hold in the ground.  Can't wait to tear out the vanity and put new tile down.   So now you have seen half of the salon, what do you think?  We will be doing as much of this ourselfs so we will have lots of DIY pictures, so we can all be in this together.  Hope you enjoy the process has much as  I do.

Watching over me

Hello!  I am back! we are going to try this again.  I have been pretty busy redoing my craft room and salon so I will post some of those pictures for you all to see.
I love this stamp set, it was in the occasion mini and is now retired but thank goodness for my digital studio you can still get the download and have it for your collection of digital downloads.
This card I made for my dear friends daughter baby shower.  I loved the idea of using this stamp set at a shower and the watches just made it that much more unique.  It was fairly simple and I love the results.

Sisters Forever

Wow I can't believe how fast my girls are growing.  Here is a fun layout from my digital studio that shows their bright personalities.  I used the vintage vogue stamp brush set, vintage overlays and of course we can't forget the taffeta ribbon with the vintage brad. I hope you like it.
